Texturing & Painting Fixes #
- Fixed a crash when opening certain files with texture projects.
- Fixed a crash with the flood fill tool when painting on meshes that have UVs outside of the 0-1 range.
- Fixed a crash if the texture project resolution was set to a very small size.
- Prevented a crash when loading 8x2K input maps into a 4x4K texture project.
- Improved the quality of vector shape projection. Shapes are now smoother and more consistent when rendered over various styles of topology.
- Thin vector shapes should no longer fade into the surface when drawn over complex meshes.
- Vector points are now restrained to mesh boundaries and will not explode if snapped to a shape on a different mesh.
- Toggling the visibility of tube shapes in vector layers now works.
- Smart materials now ignore the active tile state, resolving a problem where layers wouldn’t render on certain tiles with custom smart materials.
- Carve groups saved into smart materials now load as the correct group type.
- The carve group GUI now refreshes as expected when converting a regular group to a carve group.
- Fixed an issue that caused incorrect sync point data on Mac.
- The color selection layer now works better with material ID maps (and other ID types) that have slight color variations due to compression or noise.
- Fixed artifacts that can show up at the edges of brush strokes under certain conditions.
- Fixed a problem that prevented the brush from painting on certain tiles in multiple texture sets mode.
- Stencils are no longer offset when painting in UDIM or multiple texture sets mode in the canvas view.
Baking Fixes #
- Cages now work better with meshes that have acute angles, including picatinny rails.
- Custom cages should work as expected again.
Rendering & Material Fixes #
- Triplanar displacement mapping should now update as expected when moving meshes in the scene.
- Resolved some GUI issues for layered materials when duplicating layers.
- Fixed a crash with a certain mesh that used layered materials and vertex color blending.
- Raytraced shadows should no longer be out of date when moving meshes that have transparent materials.
- Mask GUI options now update as expected when adding mask images to layered materials.
- Channel selection for various textures (roughness, metalness, etc) now works correctly in UDIM mode.
- Fixed a crash on app launch if the template material was configured to use displacement.
- Normal and parallax mapping is now accounted for with materials that use rotation.
- Lights that do not cast shadows now work in hybrid mode.
- Fixed a visibility clipping problem with certain groom meshes in the raytraced renderer.
- Animated groom properties now work in all render modes.
