Academic tier subscriptions for Marmoset Toolbag are non-commercial licenses for academic institutions acquiring software for their student and staff use.
Here is an overview for managing licenses for your academic environment:
- Yearly Renewal: Academic Licenses are available on yearly subscription. All future software updates and upgrades are included with an active Academic subscription, and an active subscription is needed to maintain user access to the installed software. A yearly renewable license model provides the flexibility to expand/adjust total license seat account on a yearly basis to meet demands of your changing enrollment. - Marmoset Account Portal: Toolbag licenses provide a user-facing account portal (https://account.marmoset.co) where you can review license activity and manage license assignments. The standard license authentication is logging in directly through the Toolbag sotware client with your Marmoset account credentials (email and password).
- Sub Users: The account portal allows the admin license owner to add sub users. You may have end users access the software with a license on their machines using your primary account credentials as their software login, or assign license seats to specific sub user accounts – a good option for specific staff members or instructors, or assign multiple license seats to a shared sub user account for shared use by a group of students in a lab environment. As owner of the licenses, your admin account maintains sole ability to revoke a license from a sub user at any time, and reassign to another sub user account.
- License Authentication / Seat Transfers: Seat transfers complete automatically for all machines that have used the same account credentials as their software login. There is no limit per account on how many seat transfers may occur, transfers are only limited by a short cooldown period. Each time an end user runs the software it will generate a license allocation with a license from their account. Each license is locked to a machine with a 30-minute cooldown period and is eligible to be reallocated to another machine once its 30-minute cooldown has lapsed. All license cooldown periods for your licenses can be monitored through the account portal.
