The Clone Tool copies texture data from one area of a model to another. You can find the Clone tool in the Toolbar when a Paint layer is selected, alongside other painting tools like Paint/Erase.
It’s primarily used to replicate existing texture details or color variations from one surface to another and is useful for filling gaps, adding detail, and correcting uneven or missing texture information.
To use the Clone tool, select the texture or mask you want to edit, and add a Paint layer on top of it. Select the Clone tool, set a source point, and paint on the model in the viewport to apply the sampled texture data.
Clone Stamp Setting #
The Clone Stamp settings control how source texture data is sampled for cloning, including which layers are used as the source and how the sampling position is handled.

| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Select From | Determines which elements in the texture project the tool will sample from. All Layers – Sample from all layers below. Current Layer – Sample only from the current paint layer. |
| Reset Position | Resets the initial source position at the end of the stroke. |
