The flood fill tool enables users to fill a contiguous area of pixels with a selected color or material. This tool is commonly used when texturing to fill large areas with base colors or materials quickly.
In addition to texturing, the flood fill tool can quickly mask out areas of a model or create selection sets for further editing. The flood fill tool is useful in creating stylized or hand-painted textures, where you can quickly block in areas of color, then focus on adding detail and refining the texture.
